Day 1- Heading to California!!

Last week we went on our first family vacation as a family of FOUR! 

On Wednesday we woke up the kiddos around 5:30 to head to the airport. Colby was SO excited to get on a plane, and it was Camryn's first plane ride, so I was definitely a bit anxious. Everyone did great!! We had plenty of snacks, and a 45 minute layover in Phoenix, so everyone got to get out a stretch their legs for a little bit. 

As soon as we got to California, Camryn gave up and fell asleep. :) We were so excited to see Elyse and BIG! 

We got the rental car and drove to Hermosa Beach to see Doug and Elyse's house and have lunch on the beach. It's beautiful there!! 

Afterwards, we drove to Anaheim to check into our hotel and get a nap in before heading to the Downtown Disney area next to the parks. 

 Colby has never really been into Legos before, but it may be in our near future. He had a blast at the Lego store!! He especially loved building cars with dad and racing them on the track. 

Cami enjoyed it too :)

Doug and Elyse met us at Downtown Disney for dinner at Tortilla Joe's Mexican food restaurant. 

The night couldn't be over without Colby showing Elyse the Lego store. :) He was obsessed!!

PARADISE!!

What a WONDERFUL trip! Fabulous friends, beautiful emerald water, and all the food and drinks you could ever want. The Sandals resort in the Bahamas is truly PARADISE!!

We left Temple at 3am...yikes!

When we got to the airport, the resort had overbooked the van....so Holly and Rusty sacrificed for the rest of us. :)

 The first night we ate at the Pub and then headed to the piano bar- SO FUN!

We convinced the entire place that we were triplets from Texas :)

I'm usually not in to doing anything physical on vacation, but I know how much Travis loves to get out there and try all of the water sports, so I joined him. 

I really enjoyed paddle boarding... But it was hard work!!

 I'd say Camryn has him wrapped around her finger....as soon as he saw these straw bags he had to have one for her!

We spent the end of our last night at the fire pits....I'm so thankful for these friends and for a few days of adult time. :)
