Back to School

This week was the first official week of the new school year at A+. I'm so excited for Colby to be in Pre-K here. I know he will learn a TON in preparation for next year with Ms. Glenda. She's amazing!!! I'm also super thankful that Camryn gets to stay with her summer teacher, Ms. Marina who she loves DEARLY and I think the feelings are mutual. Taking my babies to daycare definitely makes me understand a different side of my 2nd graders' parents who are entrusting their babies in my care. The most important thing to me is that my children are in the care of someone who LOVES them. I know that my 2nd grade parents feel the same way. I am that teacher for them. It's funny how God works, but I hope that I can love my 2nd graders the way that I pray Colby and Camryn's teachers love them.
Sunday night we got to go to an open house at A+ to "meet the teachers" even though we already knew them. :)
Colby's 1st day was awesome! He's got his routine down and is loving his new classroom. This week they learned all about apples! Colby learned that apples have a core that you cannot eat, the skin is full of healthy vitamins, and apples are grown on trees in orchards and alot of them are grown in Washington. :) He got to taste several different types and today got to bring his favorite type of apple to share with the class.
Every morning he also "writes" in a journal. This week he drew a picture of himself eating a tiny blueberry and a giant blueberry, a dragon, and an apple tree. (I can't remember the other 2 days, but I love that this is a talking point that I can ask him about each day.)

Of course, the night before my first official day back on contract, Cami woke up with a 102 degree temperature. THANK GOODNESS Travis is on a light rotation this month. I took her to school with me for a few hours and then Travis came to pick her up and love on her for the rest of the day.
She thoroughly enjoyed spending some time with teachers!!
In case you can't tell, I LOVE the kids' school. I'm sad that they are spending more time there than they are with me, but I'm trusting in God's plan for us. :) Here's to a new school year and a new adventure!!
